Designer Dog Clothes – Bring out the Diva in your dog

Thanks to the likes of Paris Hilton and her Chihuahua Tinkerbell designer dog clothes are truly en vogue right now.

Having attracted the top designers in the canine fashion world there is a fabulous array of designer clothes available for dogs matching anything on the human catwalk.

Every social event, from upmarket garden parties to weddings, is catered for in the designer doggie fashion collection. Whilst the likes of celebrities may pay as much for a couture dog shirt as the rest of us would pay for an entire wardrobe designer dog clothes can be bought for very reasonable prices whilst still giving your pampered pooch that glitzy look. Shopping online is a sure way to find that urban cool hoodie or trendy t-shirt with a more down-to-earth price tag. The advantage of buying from designer collections is that compared to their cheaper alternatives the quality is so much better. They fit better, feel better and obviously look better. Because of the top quality materials used designer dog attire will almost certainly last longer so that slightly higher price tag may prove to be better value in the long term.

The list of what is available is almost endless and includes Designer hoodies, sweaters and shirts, designer dog carriers, coats, jackets, rain coats, caps, hats, scarves and t-shirts. All are suitable for small breeds such as Chihuahua and Yorkshire terriers’ right up to the larger poodles and bulldogs. No matter what breed you have your dog will look adorable in the right clothes. To accompany your dogs foray into the fashion world there are a multitude of accessories ranging from diamond (or at least diamante) encrusted dog collars and leads to tiaras and booties.

Whatever clothing you decide to dress your dog in make sure it fits properly. Any clothing should always be a little loose rather than tight. It is important that the dog is not restricted in any way and that he is comfortable. If your little treasure is reluctant at first to put the clothes on just have a little patience. In my experience dogs soon get used to wearing clothes. Once they feel the benefit of quality clothing and see the attention they get from everyone that sees them they start to positively look forward to putting their favourite hoodie of t-shirt on. Remember that dressing your little pal should always be fun for you and your dog..

Save your money and put it to one side so that you'll be able to pay forthcoming vets bills! Perhaps you could buy yourself a dolly!

Giving clothing to your dogs particularly puppies is a good thing. It makes them feel closer to you their owner. This is important when you are not home or at night when your dog is sleeping in his crate. There is nothing wrong with them snuggling up to an old sweatshirt or sweater so long as they don't try to make every piece of clothing you own theirs.

go to ask.com or about any search engine and type in "free pet sewing patterns" or something similar. Yes, there are many websites with these, although you will need to weed through and pick which suits you best. (I have a mid-sized dog) The site you choose, normally depends upon your breed or size of dog.

do the math.. it's not just the cost of the material.. it's the workers.. the electiricity, the building.. the shipping.. add on to that the mark up.. as stores aren't going to sell something they aren't making any money on.. (as they also have employees to pay, property taxes, and general upkeep)

Most clothing is not needed for dogs.. I live just fine with nothing more then a sweater for each of my dogs.. (I live in an area that gets lots of snow.. and I have dogs that I keep groomed well all year)

If you want to cut the price down.. go to a fabric store, look through the books and find patterns you can make for yourself..
